About Interstate Auto Auction

Since the early 2000s, Interstate Auto Auction has been providing a valuable venue where the public can, "Buy like the dealers do!" Interstate Auto Auction has held over 1,000 public car auctions on both online and in person at our convenient location in Salem, NH off Interstate 93.  Tens of Thousands of satisfied customers have purchased vehicles here at deep discounted prices, far below retail. When you buy at Auction you receive a tremendous value.

Stop paying top dollar on retail vehicles when you can purchase cars ready to drive home at wholesale prices, for as much as 60% off Dealership prices.

Interstate Auto Auction began over 15 years ago as a small 40 car a week auto auction.  Since then we have grown into one of the largest public car auctions in the United States with nearly 150+ vehicles being auctioned off every week and an astonishing 70,000+ cars sold all over the World.

Interstate Auto Auction is the best place to buy a vehicle, because we are a offer benefits that other Auctions and Dealerships won't.

1.  No Special License Required!  You do not need a dealer license to purchase a vehicle at Interstate Auto Auction. Most Auctions require you to be a licensed dealer; we are Open to the Public.  Anyone is Welcome.

2.  FREE Registration/Free To BID!   There is no fee to register or to participate in the Auction.  We require no money down to preview the cars, bid online or bid in person.  Many Auctions require you to pay money just to simply walk through the doors or they will have a registration fee to bid, but here it's ALL FREE!

3.  Preview/Test Drives/Test Starts!  One of the only Auctions that let you test drive vehicles before the Auction starts.  Here in Salem, NH you can test drive cars on our our Test Track before the auction at 9:00AM - 5:00 PM.  You will be hard pressed to find Auctions that will let you even look inside the cars before the Auction let alone giving you the power and freedom to drive cars on a property before the Auction all day.

4.  More Power, Better Prices, Great Reserve Prices on All Cars!  This is your chance to turn the tables on the car dealerships.  You can finally stop paying those high dealership retail prices when you buy directly through our consignment Auction.  Usually vehicles sell for prices around 30%-60% below the Retail Price listed in our Car Catalog. Please note that unless otherwise noted all sellers who bring cars to the Auction have the right to set a reserve price. Unless otherwise announced during our Auctions, all vehicles are sold with a reserve price, and Auctioneer can bid up to the reserve price. Sellers can also sell cars with No Reserve as well.  Due to Privacy Policy we do not issue sellers personal information. When you raise your hand in the air and place a bid it is your choice, you are in control.  As you bid on you can pick and choose what price you feel comfortable bidding and if you do not like a price you can simply lower your hand and indicate to the Auctioneer you are done bidding.  If you agree to the bid to the point that you are the last bidder standing amongst the crowd it is in this moment that you have the ultimate power to show the seller you have an offer to buy their vehicle that is the best price they will see at that Auction.  The seller at this time will then indicate if they will sell the car or not, but being that your offer is the best and since no one else is left, sellers are known to buckle at the knees and let the vehicles go for fantastic prices you cannot find anywhere else. When a seller sees you are the last bidder standing among all the people in the Auction and online you are in the ultimate power position to buy the vehicle.  The seller at this time will then indicate if they will sell the car or not

Please note, that unless otherwise noted all sellers who bring vehicles to the Auction have the right to set a reserve price on any vehicles that go through our Auction. Sellers can also sell cars with No Reserve or Low Reserves as well. Low Reserve cars can sell up to 70% off the Retail Price.  If you see a vehicle marked "No Reserve" it will be in the title of the car in our online catalog if you do not see the words "No Reserve" the car has a reserve price.  The good news is that whether a vehicle has a reserve or not you will save thousands off the retail price.

5. Longer Guarantee than the other Auctions!  Other Auctions who offer a Guarantee give usually an hour or two to report a motor or transmission complete replacement.  Interstate Auto Auction has extended this time period to 24 hours after purchase to report any motor or transmission complete replacement issue.  For those of you that may not be as familiar with Auctions this time frame is one of best if not the best in the Auction industry. This Guarantee is given to you in an effort to help our customers have as much time as possible in an Auction format.  We hope if you are considering buying at an Auction you understand for an Auction this time period for returns is virtually unheard of in the auto Auction industry and we are happy to be trail blazer in this industry as it greatly benefits our auction and our customers.

6. In Business For Over a Decade! We are a quality business the believes in fair practices and honesty.  We have been in business for well over tens years and have worked very hard to be one of the most successful Public Auctions in the United States.  We know that this has happened because our Auction allows you what other Auctions won't and the price is almost always unbeatable.  We have sold everything from Maserati's to Honda's all over the World to satisfied customers. We have even sold Box Trucks, Fleet, Construction, Repos, Donations, Dirt Bikes, Motor Cycles and Golf Carts.  After selling over 70,000 vehicles we can honestly say we are here to stay and will always strive to improve our operations to ensure more success in the future.

Important Information Before You Bid

We want all our potential customers to understand we care about you and want you to have a great experience. Part of that involves some information that will be obvious to the majority of you, but still important information before you bid. This is a consignment Auction and we do not release the seller’s information due to privacy policy. As stated on our Homepage cars have reserve prices that are usually between 30-60% off the Kelly Blue Book Retail Price. If you choose to bid online or coming person and not take advantage of testing cars before Auction on our property, BUYER BEWARE! This is a Auction not a Dealership with near perfect cars. We do not guarantee or describe our cars to have or not have check engine lights or any other lights on, we do not guarantee cars will pass inspection. It is very possible that check engine lights can be on or come on when driving a car home. OUR AUCTION DOES NOT RESET CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS. However, people who own the cars prior to arriving at the Auction may do this. Regardless it's important to understand that just because a check engine light is on or comes on that does not mean that the motor or transmission does not need to be replaced. HENCE EVEN IF THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON IT IS STILL CONSIDERED A GREEN LIGHT CAR. We get into great detail of this subject on many pages on our site in an effort to help those who may try to ignore obvious responsibilities that come with purchasing a used car at an Auction have the opportunity to read this on many pages on our site before bidding.  Auctions are not for all and you need to take this into consideration and understand there are cars that range from poor to great.  Coming in person is a key component to assisting you in knowing the difference from one car to another.  Relying on online pictures and our descriptions is not a realistic way to expect a very good car. However, coming in person and testing a car before hand is. We guarantee that the Motor & Transmission is in good working order & will not need to be completely replaced so long as you report it properly within 24 hours after purchase, no exceptions. We want to be clear and upfront with you and that is why you will find this information on many of our web pages for all to see.

Only at Interstate Auto Auction will you save thousands of dollars when, "Buying Like the Dealers Do".  Although this is an incredible opportunity, "Buying Like the Dealers Do" may not necessarily be for all of us.  This is because some persons do not contend with the inherent responsibility that comes with buying a wholesale priced vehicle at Auction.  These Green Light vehicles run and drive are a good platform to build upon, but they will need additional care to become amazing daily drivers.  In other words these Green Light vehicles are not in perfect condition needing just a couple hundred dollars worth of fixes.  Simply put, thinking you are buying a perfect vehicle is not a realistic approach to have.  However, what is realistic is that if you take the time to research the vehicles you want, discover the retail prices at dealerships and create a budget for potential fixes you will understand better how much money you will save off the dealership price before you bid.  Even better is if you know how to turn a wrench and are mechanically savvy you can save yourself even more money by cutting out the labor costs.  In either scenario you are in a great position to save thousands and have a reliable vehicle that will hopefully last you years to come.  This can further be helped by you researching the vehicle history, understanding what the average cost is to fix Auction vehicles (listed below) and most importantly by coming in person and test driving the vehicles before hand.  Many of our customers who have done this almost always are winners and if you follow these suggestions you will give yourself the best chance to have a positive experience.  This is the ultimate goal for all of us.

If this is your first time buying a car at Auction please pause and imagine yourself buying like a Dealer.  The excitement of bidding in the crowd combined with lower prices than anywhere else saving you thousands off the retail price.  Of course after you purchase a vehicle it will be time to fix some items; so it's best to have some money set aside for the fixes.  Yes, it is possible that you could get lucky and win a vehicle at Auction that is near perfect without having to put any money into it except maybe a couple hundred dollars.  We have learned this over the years when returning customers have come back to share their personal experiences with us.  However, it is always best no matter how great a vehicle seems to be that you understand these vehicles usually need fixes that average $300 - $1000 for general sedans (such as like Honda's, Dodge, Ford's, Chevy, Kia, Hyundai, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Scion Toyota ect). In addition to this fixes usually expect to be double that average of general sedans $600 to $2,000 when you buy any Truck, Vans, CUV, SUV or high end luxury vehicles (Acura, Audi, BMW, Cadillac, Lexus, Lincoln, Infiniti, Jaguar, Mercedes, Volkswagen, Volvo ect).  Land Rovers average $1,800 to over $3,000. This is due mainly to cost of parts and the time of labor.  For example, four new ties on a Honda Civic may only cost $400, but on a Ford F-150 four new tires will be $800.  Another example, is if a check engine light comes on and the vehicle has something common such as a evap code.  If you have a Chevy sedan this should be a simple fix that will only will $50-$100.  However, if you have a Mercedes with the same evap code will be a more intricate fix that is $300-$500.  So it is important to take into consideration what kind of vehicle you are purchasing for fixes before you bid.  Please also note that Green Light Does not mean a car will pass inspection as we do not guarantee this. After all even if a head light is out which is a very simple fix; the car will not pass inspection. Regardless, if you utilize this average range above and understand that this is normal when buying Green Light Cars you can plan ahead.  Please also note that when looking at the Kelly Blue Book Prices under each of our cars online this is provided directly from Kelly Blue Book and is a computer generated service that Kelly Blue Book Provides you with stating the Value of the Car as a Retail Vehicle in Excellent Condition Price. When you look at this price please understand that you need to fix the cars up to have them worth this value, but they all have this potential and it is wonderful to know just how much they could potentially be worth.

With this information you can even save more money when you come and test drive in person prior to bidding.  When you test drive on our 11 Acre site you can learn so much more about the vehicle by seeing it in person.  This will help you choose the price you should bid and since we have vehicles for everyone's budget you will be best prepared for virtually any scenario that comes your way.

It's safe to say that customers who follow these suggestions have a great advantage.  This is the key to what a dealer does to be successful.  You research, buy low, fix the cars issues and save thousands of dollars in the process.  This is your chance to turn the tables on the car dealers and stop paying those high retail prices.  You can save thousands doing it yourself or pay thousands more and have a dealer do it for you.  It's your money, it's your choice.
